Graduate Sales Recruitment News

Sales recruitment goes mobile

Nearly half of graduates would have no qualms about receiving recruitment information via their mobile, according to research by TMP Worldwide.

Some 34 per cent of graduates polled would not think ill of employers that target them with graduate sales recruitment campaigns on their mobile, while 13 per cent are keen on receiving job information in this way.

An Edinburgh-based recruitment company, Head Resourcing, has already been trialling this kind of technology in recent months.

Executive chairman at the firm, Paul Atkinson, claims that mobile recruitment offers job seekers a more discreet and modern way of applying for jobs.

He told Edinburgh News: "Now they [candidates] can be sure they are not going to miss out simply because they were in an office environment or travelling away from a PC.

"It also overcomes the issue of job searching on the internet while at work."

Jon Porter, managing director of TMP Worldwide in the UK and Ireland, told Online Recruitment that the 46.5 million UK mobile subscribers are a job market that "cannot be ignored" by employers.
