Graduate sales job recruiters 'should highlight employee benefits'

Recruiters for sales jobs may find that employee benefits are the way to draw the best candidates, one publication has suggested.

A new Management-Issues article cites research from the Guardian suggesting that corporate social responsibility, employee benefits and flexible working are top priorities for the current generation of graduates, who may be looking for sales jobs in London.

Nick Griffin, head of graduate services with Reed Consulting, told the newspaper: "In today's competitive climate and in the face of the escalating war for talent, recruiters have to work harder and smarter to find their ideal candidate."

According to the publication, a new GRADdirect study indicates that degree results are of less importance to recruiting organisations than emotional intelligence, with key attributes said to include empathy.

In related news, employee benefits were also cited by Business Zone in a recent report highlighting the best ways to attract candidates to sales jobs.
