Sales jobs 'remain available'
Sales jobs have not dried up despite the difficult recruitment market, it has been claimed.
According to CareerBuilder North America, 41 per cent of workers who were laid off in the last three months reported they found a new full-time permanent position.
President of the group Brent Rasmussen commented: "It's going to take longer to find a job in today's market, but there are opportunities out there in key areas such as healthcare, government, education, sales and technology."
He went on to recommend devoting at least five hours every day to job seeking, checking online listings, talking to recruiters and joining social networking sites in order to make their search as effective as possible.
Earlier this week, recruitment advisory service Renovo Careers claimed the current recruitment climate is the most challenging market those looking for sales jobs have seen in a generation.
He added that candidates must use new techniques in order to find employment in the downturn.
