Job search 'will take off with extra confidence'

Developing confidence for job hunting through effective preparation is vital in the current employment market, it has been claimed.

Lieutenant Colonel Rob 'Waldo' Waldman compared job hunting to flying into battle and added that increased confidence is likely to lead to better performance in the job interview room, while those who are unsure of themselves tend to be fearful.

He added that if jobseekers do not trust themselves to perform well in an interview room, they cannot expect future employers to have faith in them.

Lt Col Waldman continued: "So, before you start complaining about how difficult your job search is or how little opportunities are out there, ask yourself if you've done the heavy lifting necessary to build trust in yourself in this competitive job market. In life, nobody is flying your jet but you."
