Graduates 'struggle but still have the edge'
People applying for sales jobs who have completed higher education recently can still earn a similar amount to those who graduated last year, despite the economic downturn, according to a recent study.
Educational information company College Bound found that salaries for graduates are still at very similar levels compared to the same time last year and only suffered a 2.2 per cent drop.
Luciano Rammairone, chief executive of the organisation, said: "It's a tough job market for anyone right now, but we remain confident that a degree pays dividends down the road."
He added that people going for positions like sales jobs should think of education as a long-term investment which will come to fruition in the future.
The company also stated that people who have degrees are far less likely to be unemployed than those who do not.
Candidates who get to the phone interview stage of an application should prepare rigorously according to Joyce Lain Kennedy who wrote for the Tribune Media Services about her experiences.
