Graduate sales jobs 'a form of long-term investment'

Companies look at graduate sales jobs as a form of long-term investment, meaning they are unlikely to cut back in this area, an expert asserts.

Chris Morrall, recruitment management specialist at Talent Transitions, claims that many organisations would be unable to stop these processes.

He says companies filling graduates sales jobs experience numerous benefits, saying that those firms with vacancies are likely to continue with these schemes.

Among the key elements that can boost a candidate's chances of being hired include obtaining a good degree and taking part in non-academic activities at their university, he states.

Mr Morrall says that running a society and being involved in their local communities are both likely to improve a candidate's employability.

Recent figures published by the Office for National Statistics show that the unemployment level is at 2.43 million, with total employment at 28.93 million, which equates to 72.7 per cent of those of working age.
