Graduate sales jobs: University leavers must not panic

Recent university leavers looking for graduate sales jobs must not panic despite looking for work in a very tough market, according to one expert.

Martin Pennington, a director at the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS), said there are roles out there for recent university leavers and not all employers have imploded.

He said: "Given the competitive job environment, if you want to be successful you have to put forward a coherent and impressive argument to any employer that they ought to take you on."

Mr Pennington added that graduates should not make the mistake of thinking that they need to send out a myriad of applications in order to bag a role and instead should focus on a select few.

In other graduate sales job news, the AGCAS recently released figures which showed that there is an average of 48 applications for every role advertised in the UK.
