Graduate sales jobs 'are worth waiting for'
Recent university leavers should not panic if they cannot find a graduate sales job immediately as it could take two to three years to find the right role, according to one expert.
Martin Pennington, a director at the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS), said that although graduates should not fret about finding a role they may need more than their degree to become attractive to employers.
He stated: "Practically nine out of ten graduates are saying that they are happy with their careers to date and that is a very positive message to put out about graduate careers in general."
More competition for roles means that it is taking university leavers longer to find the right graduate sales job, according to Mr Pennington, who said that young people need to be patient and get on the right career path for them.
A recent report by the Higher Education Statistics Agency revealed that 76.1 per cent of graduates were in full-time employment after receiving their degree.
