Government supports graduate sales job scheme

The government has backed a scheme to help inspire graduates to create their own sales jobs.

A further £1 million has been invested by the government in Flying Start – Make It Happen, which will allow up to 5,000 graduates to attend one of 50 one-day sales job rallies around the country.

Dan Hawes, co-founder of the Graduate Recruitment Bureau, said that graduates with a flair for sales jobs need to be harnessed to provide the seeds of growth for UK Plc.

He added: "The government is obviously keen to keep the unemployment figures down and have several initiatives to help graduates into work which is a good thing. The business environment is very challenging at the moment but with a good idea and hard work, they will succeed."

Minister for higher education David Lammy recently announced the investment by the government and said that the rallies will provide support to graduates through advice, guidance and information from workshops and business mentors.

Graduates will also have the opportunity to network with like-minded people looking to create their own sales jobs.
