Graduates sales recruitment 'can be tackled in many ways'
The government can use a variety of different measures to help graduates get into sales jobs, according to an industry expert.
Dan Hawes, spokesman for the Graduate Recruitment Bureau, said that there are plenty of opportunities out there for people with degrees to get into sales jobs.
He added: "There have been a couple of initiatives headed up by Lord Mandelson. One of them is the graduate talent pool, where they are encouraging graduates who cannot find a job to do an internship with a whole list of companies that are involved in this program."
Mr Hawes also advised that 2010 will be a slightly better year for school-leavers with sales recruiters looking for strong graduates who have studied science, technology, engineering or maths.
His comments come after the Trades Union Congress reported that more than a third of unemployed young people aged 16 to 24 have now been out of work for more than six months.
