Graduates should not adopt a 'scatter-gun' approach to job applications
There is no point in a 'scatter-gun' approach when graduates are applying for sales jobs, according to an industry expert.
Daniel Halls, co-founder at the Graduate Recruitment Bureau, said that jobseekers should concentrate on getting their CV right for every individual application, as it needed to be easy to read and relevant for each role.
He added that, if graduates could afford to, they should try to get some commercial experience in a company which matched their job interests, as it would help bolster their CV.
"It is very tricky for graduates because a lot of them will not have relevant work experience," he commented.
According to an interview from David Baker, managing director of training firm Evolutions, hopeful graduates are missing out on the chance of employment, as they are not being proactive enough in their search for sales jobs.
Mr Baker added that application processes are a long and drawn out process and people should not leave it until the last minute to apply for sales jobs.
