Sales jobs candidates 'should not resort to inappropriate tactics'
People looking for sales jobs should not adopt inappropriate techniques to get them an interview, one expert has advised.
Phil Flaxton, chief executive of Work Wise UK, said that he sees no reason why people would be successful if they adopt unusual practices like turning up at a company without an appointment.
He added that as the employment situation worsens, people looking for sales jobs are likely to be tempted by more unusual tactics to get a job.
However, Mr Flaxton stated: "There is a certain protocol and one has got to retain one's self respect."
The best way for sales jobs candidates to secure an interview is to have a good CV, which is simple, not too long and is online friendly, he claimed.
More advice from Mr Flaxton is to be a good listener when in an interview and to highlight strengths when certain skills are mentioned.
His advice follows similar comments in the Mirror, which suggested that sales jobs candidates should look for unpaid work while they are searching for jobs, as it looks good on a CV.
