'Mathematics is important' in sales recruitment process
Mathematics is a core skill and one which sales recruitment professionals value highly, according to one industry expert.
Hilary Leevers, assistant director for the Campaign for Science and Engineering, said that by driving up the mathematical standards at school, people are also helping the general employability skill set.
She added that there are very few occupations which do not need any form of mathematics on a day-to-day basis.
Ms Leevers added that schools need to ensure that they are improving the standards of mathematics for the future of sales recruitment, while they are also under pressure in other areas to produce good results for school league tables.
