Parents given information for supporting family graduates
A new guide has been published which will help parents support graduates in their efforts to achieve sales recruitment success.
Launched by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, the guide explains to parents how they can play a role in their offspring's search for work and understand what support is available.
Denise Taylor, an award-winning career coach and the author of How to Get a Job in a Recession, said that six months on from their graduation, many university or college graduates may be in need of some family support in their job search.
"Despite their children being grown up, many parents of graduates are still naturally concerned about their prospects and want to be able to help," she added.
David Lammy, minister of state for higher education, said that internships are one way that graduates can achieve sales recruitment success, as they can kick-start someone's career.
In the government's pre-Budget report, chancellor Alistair Darling said that graduate job hunters from poor backgrounds would have access to 10,000 internships in 2010.
