Interviews are 'a chance to illustrate candidate's benefits'

Interviews should be seen as a chance to demonstrate what enhanced benefits a candidate can bring to an organisation, sales recruitment hopefuls have been told.

According to interview advice offered on FRCA.co.uk, candidates will be remembered if they are distinctive, have something interesting to say and can make show that they will be able to make a unique contribution in their sales job.

"Therefore, consider what have you got that makes you special and what makes you fit in," the guide added.

Sales recruitment candidates are encouraged to review the job description and identify how they can fulfil each of the key tasks outlined. They should also make sure that they do not come across as being over-confident, as initial impacts are "vital".

People who have to undertake an interview via webcam should also make sure that they consider their appearance and the state of the background in their chosen room, according to Kay Stout, executive advisor with Oklahoma Professional Search.

Aaron Wallis offers one of the largest resources of interview advice and career tools available to UK jobseekers.
