UK 'revelling' in competitive graduate environment
The UK has more graduate applications per vacancy than any other major country, according to new research.
HR Magazine reported that figures from the International Network of Graduate Recruitment and Development Associations (INGRADA) Global Graduate Survey 2010 showed that, with 48 CVs sent in for every position, the UK has more graduate applicants than Australia, Canada, the US, Hong Kong and South Africa.
Those thinking of looking at graduates for sales recruitment have also been told that it represents good value for money for employers, with the average salary standing at £25,000, more than £3,000 less than in Australia and Canada.
Carl Gilleard, chief executive of the Association of Graduate Recruiters, said that the political, economic and cultural environment in which organisations recruit and develop graduates is becoming increasingly global.
"We believe that the international partnerships we have forged through INGRADA will benefit our growing membership which now stands at close to 800 organisations - many of which are multi-nationals," he told the source.
Prue Watson, spokesperson for the Federation of Small Businesses, commented that graduates offer sales recruitment professionals a "great opportunity".
Aaron Wallis is a specialist marketing and sales recruitment agency that offers graduate sales jobs across a wide range of industry sectors. For employers, Aaron Wallis offers a unique graduate recruitment service that is backed by a 12 month rebate period.
