Positive signs of improvement seen in graduate job market
Graduates looking for sales recruitment opportunities are starting to see 'green shoots' of recovery, according to an industry body.
Mike Hill, chief executive of Graduate Prospects, said that the number of graduate job advertisements are currently on the increase.
"Normally, December is the quietest month of the year irrespective of whether it is a boom economy or a depressed economy but this December was quite exceptional," he added.
Mr Hill also said that we could see a repeat of a trend in the early 90s where, as the number of people who are unemployed rose, the number of graduate vacancies increased.
The expert added that he envisages the private sector making a relatively robust recovery in 2010, with an impact being seen in the recruitment sector.
A recent report by High Fliers Research Limited showed that, after a couple of years of substantial in graduate jobs, the number of vacancies is set to increase significantly in 2010.
