Sales recruitment hopefuls told of job interview mistakes

The top 50 worst and most common mistakes which can be made in a job interview have been listed.

Karen Burns, writing for USNews.com, said that the job hunting trail can be long and arduous, so it is important that people remind themselves of some common errors so that they do not make the same mistakes.

Turning up either late or too early for an interview was one of the biggest faults, while lighting up a cigarette or even smelling like one was also unlikely to impress sales recruitment professionals.

Bad-mouthing a previous workplace or manager was not advised, while lying about skills, experience and knowledge was also discouraged by Ms Burns.

Sales recruitment hopefuls should also be careful with their appearance, with bad marks being given for wearing too much perfume or aftershave, sunglasses or even a Bluetooth earpiece.

Ms Burns also recently told job hunters that interviews are designed to trip people up, so they should carry out research into different areas of the business that they have applied to.
