Warrington firms urged to give apprentices a chance
Young people looking for sales jobs could be boosted by the news that firms in Warrington are being urged to take on apprentices.
As part of the government's Apprenticeship Grant for Employers initiative, businesses in the area will be offered a £2,500 bonus for each 16 or 17-year-old they take on.
Sue Price, regional director at the National Apprenticeship Service, told the Warrington Guardian that young people have never had a better time to consider an apprenticeship.
"They provide a great opportunity for young people to get their first step on to the career ladder," she added.
The expert also said that in 2009, there was a seven per cent increase in apprenticeships taken up by young people, placing 240,000 people into employment, including sales jobs.
Recently, young people in the Midlands were asked to consider taking up an apprenticeship to help boost their job prospects.
