Graduate Sales Recruitment News

Jobs pledge made by prime minister

People hoping to break into sales jobs in the north-west of the UK have been given a boost by prime minister Gordon Brown.

The North West Evening Mail reported that more than 1,700 people out of work in the area would be guaranteed training or employment if Labour is re-elected in the general election. This could mean more sales jobs being created.

Unveiling his party's manifesto, Mr Brown said young people who have been out of work for more than six months and anyone else who has been unemployed for two years or more would benefit from the measures.

Furthermore, Mr Brown said that the minimum wage would also rise, while a £40-a-week Better Off in Work promise would be made.

The Conservative Party also said that it hopes to help people looking for employment, including sales jobs, by funding 200,000 apprenticeships and 100,000 further education college places.
