Graduates need to bring experience to new roles
University leavers looking to land themselves a good sales job need to ensure that they take advantage of internships in order to impress potential employers and build useful contacts, according to an expert.
Lisette Howlett, managing director and founder of HireScores.com, said that graduates need to ensure that they have some experience, even if it is unpaid, in order to be able to hit the ground running when they do get a graduate sales job.
"Graduates should definitely start looking as early as possible and take advantage of internships and holiday employment to build a relationship with their target companies and sector," she said.
The employment added that graduates looking for financial sales jobs could be in luck as the sector has bounced back well after the recession.
Mike Hill, chief executive of Graduate Prospects, recently said that graduate recruitment in all sectors is starting to gain momentum now with consultancy and engineering being areas which are doing particularly well.
Aaron Wallis is a specialist marketing and sales recruitment agency that offers graduate sales jobs across a wide range of industry sectors. For employers, Aaron Wallis offers a unique graduate recruitment service that is backed by a 12-month rebate period.
